LIVE TRAPPING
Falconry services also offer a live trapping service this can be used for the removal of colonies of pigeons on or in buildings and for squirrels that are in habiting buildings i.e. loft space.
All traps will have feed (bait) and water provided and will be checked once every 24hrs this has to be carried out to stay within in current UK laws.
Trapping
- Squirrels, They can be a great risk/nuisance if they enter a loft space, they can not only be destructive , with a risk of fire should they chew electric cables, they can also keep occupants of the bedrooms below a wake at night by scampering/scratching around. The traps we use have an opening that once the squirrel enters the cage they will tread on a plate closing the door, allowing us to remove the live unharmed squirrel. We will place the traps in the loft space as long as there's suitable access and endeavour to trap and remove them.
- Pigeons, Another successful way of removing pigeons from a
colonised area are to trap those using live traps, these traps have a "one
way" entrance trapping the pigeon live and unharmed allowing us to remove
them.
